NEWS UP-DATE February 2012

CREATIVE MUSIC CLUB

The Creative Music Sessions are progressing extremely well. There has been a great deal of improvement by all participants and the Group are looking forward to the sessions continuing. We are still planning to perform in the near future.

SWIMMING CLUB

The swimming club continues to be popular and once a month the group enjoy a meal in a local pub in Chippenham after their swim. The group had another member join this month.

OUT AND ABOUT

The Club will be looking at arranging trips from March onwards. We will be using public transport to visit other local towns and villages. Keep an eye on the monthly calendar for information.

Wii CLUB

The Wii Club which takes place most Thursdays and some Fridays (see Calendar on the site for details)

SKITTLES

The Skittles League trophies were presented during the Mill RAce Christmas Meal festivities. This was the first presentation since the league started at the beginning of 2011. Pictures below - from left to right - show Team A receiving the winning Trophy, overall highest scorer Martin and finally some of the Team A players with Nick who runs the Woodlands Club. A big THANK YOU to the Woodlands for their support and hospitality throughout 2011. Everyone is looking forward to continuing throughout 2012.

BOWLING

The ensure that all members have the opportunity of joining in activities the Club now runs a Bowling Group which takes place every other Tuesday in the month and takes place at melksham Sports Club. For information on dates see the monthly calendar.

COOKERY

We have been lucky to have a new volunteer join the team and she has been running cookery sessions with some of the members. Look at the in house activities to view the beautiful quiches produced.

TRIPS

Next year (2012) we are planning a holiday to the Hotel Califonia (link) in Newquay Cornwall. We are also arranging a trip to Longleat at Christmas - new for this year and we will be enjoying our Christmas meal at Stanton Manor Hotel.

ORIGAMI AND MAGIC SESSIONS

We have recently commenced a session each two weeks when a professional lady comes to the club to teach Origami, magic tricks, juggling and other interesting activities. These sessions are progressing very well and every one takes great delight in joining in.

MEMBERS MEETINGS

The Club holds members meetings on a regular basis which gives members an opportunity to put forward ideas for activities and to discuss an issues. Notes are made and circulated to everyones.
